Maintenance in
Glastonbury
Repairs, non-gas plumbing, decorating, gutters and grounds across Glastonbury and BA6. We manage the work, our vetted contractors carry it out, and you deal with one company throughout. Fixed price agreed before anyone starts, from £150 + VAT.
07889 334849Four Trades,
One Point of Contact
We already work in properties across Mid Somerset every week. This is the work that comes up alongside it — handled by the same company, to the same standard, without you having to find and chase four different people.
01 General Repairs
The list that never quite gets done. Small jobs handled properly rather than bodged, and done in one visit wherever we can.
- Shelving, brackets and wall fixings
- Doors easing, adjusting and re-hanging
- Locks, handles, hinges and door closers
- Flat-pack assembly and fitting
- Filling, patching and making good
- Silicone and sealant renewal
- Small joinery and second-fix carpentry
02 Plumbing — Non-Gas
Everything on the water side that does not need a Gas Safe registration. If a job turns out to need one, we tell you before we start, not halfway through.
- Taps, mixers and shower valves
- Waste pipes, traps and blockages
- Radiator swaps and valve replacement
- Leaks traced and repaired
- Outside taps fitted
- Toilets, cisterns and fill valves
- Bathroom fit-out support alongside our electrical work
03 Painting & Decorating
Interior and exterior. Particularly useful after electrical work — we can make good and redecorate rather than leaving you to arrange it separately.
- Interior walls, ceilings and woodwork
- Exterior masonry, render and timber
- Making good after chasing and rewires
- Preparation, filling and sanding
- Full room and whole-property redecoration
- Between-tenancy touch-ups and refreshes
04 Grounds & Exterior
Seasonal work that protects the building. Worth doing before the weather makes it a bigger job than it needed to be.
- Gutters cleared and realigned
- Fascias, soffits and downpipes
- Jet washing to drives, paths and patios
- Fencing repairs and replacement panels
- Garden and site clearance
- Hedge cutting and general tidy-ups
05 Not Us — But Still Ask
Some work we do not carry out ourselves. That does not mean we cannot get it done — we are already on jobs alongside these trades. Ask us either way rather than starting again with somebody new.
- Gas work — boilers, gas hobs, gas fires. We are not Gas Safe registered and we never touch gas. We do work closely with Gas Safe registered engineers and are already on jobs with them, so tell us what you need and we will bring the right person in.
- Roofing — tiles, flat roofs and chimney work. We work with a roofer we can subcontract to, so a roof repair alongside your gutters or fascias can still be handled through us. Our own people work at accessible height only.
- Structural work — load-bearing walls, beams and foundations. This one genuinely is not ours: it needs a structural engineer and usually Building Control, and we will point you that way rather than guess.
Either way it is one phone call, not four.
Three Ways In
A landlord with six properties and a homeowner with one blocked gutter want completely different things. Pick whichever fits.
A Plan Across the Portfolio
Scheduled visits, priority response, and work batched so several of your properties get seen on the same run. One invoice covering the lot, and one person to ring rather than a different trade for every job.
See plans →One Job, One Fixed Price
Tell us what needs doing and we come back with a price for the job. You know the number before anyone turns up, and it does not move unless you ask for something extra. No commitment, no plan, no membership.
Get a price →A Standing Arrangement
Offices, pubs, care homes and managed residential. We can work to purchase orders, coordinate access directly with tenants or site staff, and invoice on a single account. Agreed terms for commercial accounts.

the Property
Three shapes of plan, depending on what the property is doing. Each one is quoted against your actual building rather than a headline figure — a two-bed flat and a six-bed farmhouse are not the same job, and pretending otherwise helps nobody.
- Between-tenancy turnaround
- Full walk-round and condition check
- Minor repairs completed on the visit
- Touch-up decorating where needed
- Garden and exterior tidy
- Written list of anything larger we find
- For landlords with more than one property
- Scheduled visits through the year
- Priority response between visits
- Work batched across the portfolio
- Single invoice, single point of contact
- Coordinates with your EICR renewals
- Pre-season check before bookings start
- In-season response for guest issues
- End-of-season maintenance and repairs
- Changeover support where needed
- Exterior and grounds kept presentable
- Works alongside your compliance checks
Send us the address and what you need covering. We will come back with a firm price for that property — not a range, and not a figure that changes once we have seen it.
You Know the Number
Before We Start
Most maintenance outfits sell you an hourly rate, which means you find out what it cost after it is finished. We do not work that way.
01 Priced by the Job
You get a fixed price for the work, agreed before anyone starts. It does not move unless you ask us for something extra, and if you do, that gets priced and agreed too. No clock running, no invoice surprises, no debate at the end about how long something took.
02 Half-Day Minimum
Every visit carries a half-day minimum. Getting a van, a man and the right tools to your door costs the same whether the job takes twenty minutes or three hours. Saying so up front is fairer than padding a price to hide it — and it is why batching several jobs into one visit works out better for you.
03 Materials at Cost Plus 20%
Materials are charged at what we paid for them plus 20%, taken from the actual receipt rather than a list price off a website. That covers sourcing, collection and the warranty — if a part we supplied fails, we come back and replace it. If you would rather supply your own materials, that is fine: tell us at quoting stage and we will price the labour on its own.
04 VAT & Invoicing
VAT at 20% on everything, invoiced by DS Electrical Installations (SW) Ltd — a VAT-registered limited company, Reg. No. 13972348. Payment by BACS, due on receipt. Agreed terms available for established commercial accounts.
A Company, Not a Number
Off a Facebook Group
One Contact, One Invoice
You ring one number and deal with one company, whether the job is a leaking tap, a room to decorate or a consumer unit. No chasing four trades, no coordinating between them, no arguments about whose job the overlap was.
Electrical Work Stays In-House
Anything electrical is done by DS Electrical under NAPIT registration 66245, certified and lodged properly. That is the part we are accredited for, and it does not get handed to anybody else.
Vetted Contractors
The maintenance trades are carried out by contractors we work with and stand behind — not names pulled off a directory. We manage the work and we carry the relationship with you.
A Proper Business
Limited company, registered number, VAT registered, written quotes and proper invoices. If something is not right you have a company to come back to, which is not always true of a man with a van and a mobile number.
Already In Your Area
We work across Mid Somerset and Bath every week — Wells, Shepton Mallet, Glastonbury, Street, Frome, Castle Cary, Bruton, Radstock, Midsomer Norton and the villages between them. Roughly a 40-minute drive is our working radius.
Sensible About Scope
If a job needs a trade we do not cover, we say so at the quoting stage rather than sending someone to have a go. You get a straight answer, and you get it before you have booked the time off.
These accreditations cover DS Electrical's electrical work. Property maintenance trades — repairs, non-gas plumbing, decorating and grounds — are carried out by our vetted contractors under our management.
Working in Glastonbury
Glastonbury has a high proportion of period property and one of the strongest short-let markets in Somerset. Holiday lets need work turned round fast between bookings and presentable at all times, which is exactly what our Holiday Let plan is built for. We are based just outside the town, so it is one of the quickest call-outs we do.
£ What it costs in Glastonbury
Every visit carries a half-day minimum, which starts at £150 + VAT and covers up to around four hours on site. Bigger jobs are priced as a whole rather than by the hour, so you know the number before anyone starts. Materials are charged at cost plus 20% from the receipt.
⏱ Getting to you
Glastonbury is inside our normal working area, so it is a routine run rather than a special journey. If you have several jobs, or several properties, we will batch them into one visit — it works out better for you and it means fewer separate call-outs.
Send Us the Address
and the List
The more you tell us, the closer the first price will be. If it is easier, ring or send photos on WhatsApp instead — either works.
