Why a proper install matters
Plug-in solar became legal in the UK in August 2026 — but the battery units that store that energy still have to be hardwired by a qualified electrician, notified to your network operator under G98, and certified. That's the bit we do, and we do it properly.

G98 is the process for telling your District Network Operator that generation or storage equipment up to 16A per phase (about 3.68kW) is connected at your property. Home batteries that export or interact with the grid need it. We handle the notification for you as part of the installation.
The battery units in the STREAM range are designed to be hardwired by a qualified electrician, with a dedicated way at the consumer unit, a G98 notification and an electrical certificate. That's exactly the package we provide.

A standard installation — battery near the consumer unit, dedicated circuit, G98 notification and certificate — is typically completed in a single visit. If your consumer unit needs work to take the new circuit, we'll price that clearly before anything starts.
No — we don't install roof solar. The STREAM range is designed around plug-in balcony solar and battery storage; our job is the battery side: the hardwired connection, the G98 notification and the certificate.
