Keynsham and Saltford (BS31) are classic commuter belt — most homes here have driveways and off-street parking, which makes them ideal for a tidy 7kW home charger straight onto the dedicated radial. Strong off-street parking means strong home-charger demand, and we install across this stretch every week.
The Chew Valley villages (BS40) — Chew Magna, Chew Stoke, Stanton Drew, Bishop Sutton, Blagdon, Pensford, Winford — are a different job. Rural properties often mean longer cable runs from the board to the parking spot, outbuildings and barns to feed, and older supplies to assess. We plan the cable route on site and price it properly.
The BS39 villages — Clutton, Temple Cloud, High Littleton, Paulton, Timsbury, Farrington Gurney — sit on the Somerset side of the fringe. Older properties here sometimes have 60A or 80A main supplies that struggle with the extra 32A EV load. We assess supply capacity via CT-clamp load monitoring and either recommend a smart load-balanced charger (Easee, Ohme) or arrange a DNO fuse upgrade. The OZEV grant is yours to claim — DS registers the install only; you submit the claim through the OZEV portal.
Fleet depots, workplace car parks, hotels and destination charging running multiple OCPP-connected chargers need reliable network infrastructure for cloud reporting, dynamic load management and driver authentication. We do both halves in-house.
We cover the southern Bristol fringe only — Keynsham and Saltford (BS31), the Chew Valley (BS40: Chew Magna, Chew Stoke, Stanton Drew, Bishop Sutton, Blagdon, Pensford, Winford) and the BS39 villages (Clutton, Temple Cloud, High Littleton, Paulton, Timsbury, Farrington Gurney). We do not cover central Bristol or the BS1–BS16 city postcodes. If you’re south of the city on the Somerset side, you’re in our area.
We’re an OZEV-authorised installer. We register the install with OZEV and provide the approved-installer certification you need; you submit the claim via the OZEV portal yourself. The grant is open to renters and leaseholders (the homeowner grant for houses closed in 2022), and to businesses via the Workplace Charging Scheme. Keynsham, Saltford, the Chew Valley and the BS39 villages are all within our standard coverage area.
Yes — always. BS 7671 18th edition (Amendment 2) requires RCBO protection that detects DC fault current on EV charger circuits. We use Type A RCBO by default (correct for all EV chargers we install) — never Type AC. This is non-negotiable.
Hypervolt, Zappi (myenergi), Ohme, Andersen, Project EV, Wallbox. We’re kit-agnostic — the right choice depends on whether you want solar diversion (Zappi), smart-tariff scheduling (Ohme), premium aesthetics (Andersen) or value (Project EV / Hypervolt). DNO notification handled in every case; OZEV — we register the install, you claim via the OZEV portal directly.
