BA3 is the old Somerset Coalfield, and the wiring reflects it. Stone miners' terraces through Radstock, Westfield and Clandown, 1930s and post-war council stock that is now mostly privately owned, 1960s infill, and modern developer estates at Writhlington and Peasedown St John. A lot of it is on its original or first-replacement wiring, so full rewires and fuse-board work are the bulk of what we do here. Out toward Kilmersdon, Holcombe and Stratton-on-the-Fosse it changes character again, older stone farmhouses, converted barns and period properties where the rewire has to be planned around solid walls, lath and lime plaster and, on listed buildings, what you are allowed to chase.
