We cover the southern Bristol fringe only — Keynsham and Saltford (BS31), the Chew Valley (BS40: Chew Magna, Chew Stoke, Stanton Drew, Bishop Sutton, Blagdon, Pensford, Winford) and the BS39 villages (Clutton, Temple Cloud, High Littleton, Paulton, Timsbury, Farrington Gurney). We do not cover central Bristol or the inner postcodes (BS1–BS16).
Older Chew Valley and BS39 housing stock is frequently still on rewireable (fuse-wire) or early plastic split-load boards that pre-date current regulations — these need full 18th-edition consumer units with all-RCBO protection and a Type 2 SPD on the incomer. Keynsham and Saltford are more of a mix: newer estate housing sitting alongside older stone cottages and converted properties, so we survey each board on its own merits before quoting.
We're well placed for the southern fringe and cover BS31, BS40 and BS39 as core areas — bookings are normally inside a week.

A standard like-for-like RCBO consumer unit is typically a single-day job (8-10 hours including testing). 3-phase distribution boards or large 18-way domestic boards may run 1.5-2 days. We isolate at the cutout, work safely with the supply company's seal in place where required, and never leave a property without power overnight unless we've planned that with you.
BS 7671 18th Edition Amendment 2 (since 2022) recommends AFDDs (Arc Fault Detection Devices) on socket circuits in HMOs, care homes, and high-risk locations — not yet mandatory on all domestic, but recommended best practice. SPD (Surge Protection Device) on the incomer is now standard on all our new boards — it's the cheapest insurance against a single induced-surge event taking out every appliance in the house.
