Built for people whose name is on the door.

When the power trips at one of your properties, it's your reputation on the line — not your electrician's. A maintenance contract means the problem is already someone's job before it happens.

Property managers & letting agents

Landlord EICRs tracked and renewed on time, faults at tenanted properties handled with priority — and one invoice trail your landlords can see.

Holiday-let & serviced accommodation

An electrical fault mid-stay means refunds and bad reviews. Priority cover plus planned testing keeps changeover days safe and bookings intact.

Pubs, restaurants & cafés

Kitchens, cellar cooling and tills can't wait until next week. Get fault-finding from someone who already knows your board and your circuits.

Offices & retail units

Emergency lighting, fire alarm testing and EICRs planned around your trading hours — with the certificates your insurer and landlord ask for.

Workshops & light industrial

Three-phase supplies, machinery circuits and warehouse lighting maintained by an electrician who works on this kit week in, week out.

Village halls & community sites

Trustees get a simple compliance calendar, planned testing and a named contractor — no chasing quotes every time something needs doing.

Three ways to put DS on your team.

Every contract starts with a free site survey. Pricing below is indicative, from-rates for a single small site — exact scope, response targets and pricing are agreed per contract and confirmed in writing.

Priority Response

Emergency lighting installation maintained by DS Electrical

The testing your site is legally meant to have.

Commercial and rented properties carry electrical duties under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and, for rentals, the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020. A contract turns that from a recurring scramble into a calendar.

  • EICR — Electrical Installation Condition Report

Periodic inspection and testing to BS 7671, with remedials clearly coded, quoted and fixable by the same electrician who found them.

  • Emergency lighting

Functional and duration testing to BS 5266-1, with logbook entries kept up to date for your fire risk assessment.

  • Fire alarm systems

Periodic testing to BS 5839-1 on sites with a fire alarm system, coordinated with your existing servicing arrangements where one is in place.

  • PAT / in-service equipment testing

Portable appliance testing for offices, kitchens, holiday lets and workshops where your insurance or risk assessment calls for it.

One contractor. One name. One number.

DS Electrical is deliberately a one-man operation — and for maintenance clients that's the whole point. The person who quotes your contract is the person who tests your boards, answers your calls and signs your certificates.

  • 01

You deal with Dan — every time

No call centre, no ticket numbers, no different engineer every visit. One person who knows your sites, your boards and your history.

  • 02

    Your reputation is the job

Maintenance clients refer DS to their landlords, guests and tenants. The standard of work has to protect your name as well as ours — that's the deal.

  • 03

    NAPIT-registered and insured

Registered with NAPIT, City & Guilds qualified, TrustMark and Part P certified, working to BS 7671. Certification comes from the contractor doing the work.

  • 04

    Honest about capacity

A one-man firm takes on the number of contracts it can genuinely service. If the books are full, you'll be told — not strung along.

From enquiry to cover in four steps.

Step 01

Free site survey

Dan visits each site, looks at the boards, circuits and existing certification, and listens to what keeps going wrong.

Step 02

Written proposal

A clear contract proposal: what's covered, the compliance schedule, response targets, rates and the monthly figure. No small print surprises.

Step 03

Compliance calendar

Existing certificates are logged, gaps flagged, and every test and renewal goes on a calendar you can see.

Step 04

You're covered

Faults go straight to Dan's mobile. Planned work is booked around your trading hours. Certificates arrive without being chased.

Covering Mid Somerset & Bath

Wells, Shepton Mallet, Street, Frome, Bruton, Castle Cary, Radstock, Midsomer Norton, Bath and the surrounding villages — plus the BS39, BS40 and BS31 fringe of Bristol. Contracts are only taken on within genuine fast-reach distance, because priority response has to mean something.

Tell us about your sites.

Send a few details and Dan will come back to you to arrange a free site survey and written proposal. No obligation, no auto-renewal small print.

Sent straight to Dan. Usually answered the same working day.

Straight answers.

How fast will you actually respond?

Contract clients get priority — your call goes ahead of one-off work, and Dan answers his own phone. We agree a realistic target response for your contract in writing rather than printing a one-size-fits-all guarantee here. A promise that can't always be kept is worth less than a target that's honest.

What does a contract cost?

Indicative from-rates are shown above and exclude VAT at 20%. The real number depends on the size of the site, what's on the compliance schedule and how many sites you have — which is why every contract starts with a free survey and a written proposal. No payment is taken before you've seen the proposal.

Is one electrician really enough for a contract?

For the size of site this is designed for — managed properties, hospitality and small commercial — yes, and it's better. You get the same qualified person every visit who knows your installation. For bigger jobs, trusted help is brought in under Dan's supervision, and DS only takes on the number of contracts it can genuinely service.

We already have a fire alarm servicing company. Does that clash?

No — testing is coordinated with any existing servicing arrangements. Many clients keep a specialist fire panel servicer and use DS for the electrical side: EICRs, emergency lighting, fault response and remedials. The compliance calendar covers both so nothing falls between two contractors.

What areas do you cover?

Mid Somerset and Bath — Wells, Shepton Mallet, Street, Frome, Bruton, Castle Cary, Radstock, Midsomer Norton, Bath and surrounding villages, plus the BS39/BS40/BS31 fringe of Bristol. If your portfolio stretches beyond that, ask — but contracts are only taken where priority response is genuinely deliverable.

Can we cancel?

Notice terms are set out in your written contract before you sign — plain English, no auto-renewal traps. The aim is for the contract to keep earning its place every month, not to lock you in.

Put your electrics on a contract.

One free site survey is all it takes to get a written proposal.
